Report

wind blowing slightly more than predicted.. 12-15 some gusts higher near thunderbumpers.. water temp 84-86 depending where you are fishing... there is a lot of fresh water around now... but don't be fooled.. taste it .... some areas are still salty enough to hold fish even though you see lilly pads floating by...when you find these areas they will be loaded with bait...mostly below the surface.. croaker..piggy perch glass minnows..(we have had new hatches in several areas)fished the south shore plus some mid bay reefs.. using topwaters..gold spoons...soft plastics..corkeys..she dogs etc.. caught about 50-60 fish...mostly in the 14-14.3/4" range.. at one time we had an hour of non-stop action... keepers???.. not many.. we ended up with 9 to 20" mostly on soft plastics. the rain held off all day.... sun more of the same.. had another party/...1/2 day.. morning bite was definitely a lot stronger than (7 keepers) the mid morning.. late bite on the incoming tide was also good.. the rain and thubderbumpers are supposed to be with us through wed. .... then it is poco time.. should be a good tournament.. fishing and hunting show will be july 26th..27th..and the 28th.. . i will be there fri and sun.. fishing the 27th.. but the booth will have someone in there to talk to you... i have a seminar at 2pm(i think) sunday.. sort of a "how to" with topwaters.. in our part of the coast.. 'till next time... capt mac
