thought you might like a few tips for fishing in the wind.... which is what we will have this coming weekend.. what to expect.... wind 20-30 mph...water dirty.. not from freshwater runoff, but from wind and wave action..soft plastics in dark colors... (bass assassins).. red shad..morning glory..texas red(with silver glitter) usually all dark..(you can dip the tails chart..)there are two colors that are not dark that i have good results from under these conditions.. sea shad in the glo/chart...or the bass assassin in the glo/chart that has been mixed in with some lime green assassins until the colors run together... this gives you a "high yellow "color...work these baits slowly on 1/8th or 1/16th jig heads..or use a finesse hook (mustad) with a 1/32 ... that hook has the weight built in at the eye.. with the finesse hook you have to work the bait very slowly , working the water column vertically top to bottom.. takes a little practice, but the fish will just about jerk the rod out of your hands on the hit/or to the other extreme... only a heavy line.. find a flat next to deep water and you should be in business... 'till next time...capt mac
